Anaheim Lions Board Meetings Minutes

9/18/07, 6: 45 PM

Present: Bob Mokbel, Trisha Throop, Jerry Majer, Rod Wallace, Nina Erickson, Tom Brown, Susie Snider-Pinchot, Keith Hamilton (later).
Secretary’s Report:
Reviewed and approved old minutes motion made by J. Majer and seconded by T. Throop

Treasurer’s Report: Treasurer’s Report reviewed and approved, moved by T. Brown, seconded by T.Throop

Anaheim Chamber Membership: Approved to keep membership for one more year, moved by R. Wallace, seconded by J. Majer. Rod Wallace volunteered to be contact for Chamber and to attend mixers on behalf of club, other members are encouraged to attend.

Eye Care /Issues: M.G.- 56 yr. old man needs new lenses, refer him to Dr. C. Green’s office for evaluation, and make decision about cost.

Eye glasses/hearing aids- Post office box that Kurt Vanderquist. has and would donate to us.  We would like to obtain this for collection of eye glasses and hearing aids, Rod to call community center to see if we can place the box on their premises. Tom Brown to pick up the Collection Box.

Square dancing hall status- Tues, Thurs, (7-10pm) & Sat. (7-11pm) Martin Hall available for square dancing or round dancing Only.

Lion Rod Hall is club Lion Tamer, Lion Keith Hamilton is club greeter (officially)

Visual and hearing impaired scholarship: Motion made to create 2 new scholarship, for $500.00 moved by R. Wallace, second by T. Brown, approved

Pancake Trailer- condition and review of contents, paint trailer w/ new ads

Pancake Breakfasts upcoming:  10-6-07 Tustin Tiller Days,  10-13-07 Blind Children’s Learning Center in Santa Ana

Sight & Hearing Van 9-22-07 Pearson Park 11am-3pm, Leonardo Sanchez (Trisha’s husband) to help with Spanish interpretation

Visitation 1st week in October to Orange County Central Club, sign up sheet to be circulated at next regular meeting, October 18th visitation to Buena Park Club

At October 4th regular meeting, Melvin Jones Fellows to meet and designate Melvin Jones appointee from club

Christmas party  gifts for “Nina’s kids” and have gift exchange between club members. Total of gifts to bring would be 2.  Nina to try and bring list to club meeting November 1st.

Student speaker- Chas Hendricks is director at club level, packet to be mailed out to Club President in November.

Program schedule to be emailed to Jerry Majer, Don Schilling reporting loaded on club website

Membership: update and print a new club brochure, have contest in bringing guests, etc.

Communication:  get club in print Orange County Register/ Anaheim Bulletin, Chamber newsletter (This Week in Anaheim), Don Schilling to report on regular club meetings brief synopsis:  speaker, members present, raffle prizes won, etc.
