          Meeting called to order 6:30pm

Treasurer’s Report

 

General/Charity approved, Bob Jones moved, Bob Mokbel 2nd

 Discussion to present Chas Hendricks Aslan Fellow at next regular meeting/Governor’s Visit, need pictures taken

 Budget reviewed, approved (pending research of Wilderness Camp for the Deaf/ Camp Teracita Pines $400/$500 to be split

for two scholarships (so moved by   Jerry Majer and 2nd by Jack Mauller and also by Bob Jones and Jack Mauller)

 and adding $500 for UCI District Project (so moved by Tom Brown and 2nd by Trisha Throop) and $500 for Wishland (so

moved by Rod Wallace and 2nd by B. Mokbel)

 

Camp Teracita is District approved project, camp is District owned and maintained

Normal budget allocation is $300 for Wilderness Camp for the Deaf—Jack Mauller to research and bring to next meeting

 

Jack Mauller suggested asking for memberships to our Lions Club from our various charitable donations

 

Secretary’s Report

Need to approve and file June Board Mtg.minutes,

 

Old Business

Pancake—October 4th, Tiller Days Pancake Breakfast, need commitment for chair, decide 1st meeting in September, J. Majer

suggested B. Jones for chair position

Duane Stout asked about assistance on farming out Pancake Breakfasts outside Anaheim

 

Baseball—Rod Wallace will be applying for fields @ City Hall for Baseball Tourney/ night games, Saturday games will be

scheduled for schools still in session, Rod needs to form Baseball Committee by October

 

Casino Night—Jack gathering info, sponsors, letters for donations need to go out in January

 

Leo Club—Boys & Girls club (Mike Baker) would like to start club, advisors not needed since club would not be formed by

school, charter by November, invite Mike Baker for program at club meeting and present donation to Boys & Girls Club

 

Student Speaker—Chas Hendricks chair for next year

Bob Jones moved that we go black on regular meeting for Student Speaker program/club level

New Fundraisers—Mini Golf Tournament,  No takers

 

Other—September 27th YMCA Health Fair, J. Mauller suggest inviting students to assist from College of Optometry in

Fullerton with Sight and Hearing Van

 

Anaheim Lions Club would like to award 2 Melvin Jones fellowships every year for members

 

VAHA discussion, not Lion’s standard project, asking for too much money, we’re looking for more bang for our buck, but some

interest in marketing or putting together a seminar
