Calendar of Events
In Order to raise funds to support our Charities, The Anaheim Lions hold several Activities every year.
April 2010 Easter vacation
The New Baseball tournament is coming up very
soon, we have just a few months to get ready.
The baseball tournament committee will meet again in Jan , at the house of Chairman Rod Wallace, present was President Tom Brown, Lions Duane Stout, Dr. Robert Mokbel and Don Schillings. We hope to get a major Sponsor for this year and we will try to work on a big item Raffle such as a Large screen LCD TV.
Comments are welcome, and any help will be apreciated, we need Advertising for our Bulletin.
This year we expect 54 teams to take part in the 36th tournament. In 1975 it started with just eight teams. We hope to get teams from outside California such as Nevada, Texas Virginia and Hawaii.
In 2008, the event was a great success as the schools competed for 5 days in a row with the finals held between Mater Dei ( Santa Ana) and Valencia (Placentia), Mater Dei won with an impressive 8 - 5. The trophy was displayed at Mater Dei until the next tournament in 2009.
The 2009 was an exciting year, during the championship game Florer, pitched an inning and 1/3 in relief to guide the Diablos of Mission Viejo to a 3-1 victory over No. 5 Capistrano Valley at Glover Stadium.
The Tournament provides an opportunity for the participating High Schools to compete against each other on the baseball field, in the same time allowing the Anaheim Lion Club to raise funds to help the blind and the visually handicapped and other worthwhile charities.
